Matters before the Court

Polar bears are demanding restitution.
We melted their ice. They are homeless.
When they invade our territory
we shoot them. It's time for us to pay,
they say.

The bees are demanding restitution.
We have poisoned their hives.
They can't pollinate our food if they're dying.
For the bees, we pay with our lives.

NYC 2014
The frogs are demanding restitution
through a class action suit with the other species.
The frogs aren't stupid. They know we hate bugs.
We can only repay them with green, quiet places.

Women are demanding restitution.
Centuries of submission must be corrected,
the order of things reversed.

Men have made a mess of the planet.
Women will clean up as usual.
It's men's turn to be told what to do.

Women have filed an amica brief
supporting the Animals, to remind the Court
that their cause is ours, in the long view.
We make this work for everybody
or we all lose.

Stay tuned. This is breaking news.
